Coaching

What is coaching?
Coaching is a form of learning, where a coach (me) supports someone else
(the coachee, you) to create learning and self development in a way that benefits you.

Coaching literally means to transport someone from one place to another. One thing that all forms of coaching seems to have in common is that people are using it to help them move forward in a certain direction. The coach supports an individual to improve their performance and get better results – depending on what they want to achieve.

Coaching will normally be a conversation, or series of conversations, we have with one another. However we may introduce some physical activity as well, as working on the mind and body work together may achieve significantly better results for you. It may be appropriate for me to watch you performing in your environment, so I can best assess where improvements can be made.

What coaching is NOT
Coaching is not structured training, or classroom learning. It is not counselling or psychoanalysis. Importantly, it is not a way of someone else solving your problems for you.

You are responsible for your life and the results you are seeing in your life. Once we accept responsibility for ourselves we have power and influence over our lives, and do not feel like powerless victims. I will not instruct you to do anything specific as that would be taking your responsibility, and power, away from you.

I will help you to understand your situation more clearly, to develop new ideas or approaches to situations, and I will help you to take constructive actions that get you the results you want.

Why would you need or want coaching?
People enlist the services of a coach because they want to improve their situations and achieve goals. They want to learn new ways of thinking and approaching situations, in order to get better results.

How will this coaching benefit you?

Counselling
Counselling

How and why does counselling work?

Our childhood experience is of paramount importance; how we were brought up, the social and economic conditions we experience, our parents’ attitudes towards us as individuals and those of significant others such as teachers, siblings, figures of authority are the key factors in how our personalities have been formed and how we relate to the world as adults. Many of us suffer from lack of confidence and lack of self-esteem, or feel angry or depressed or feel stuck in a rut and cannot find the motivation to move forward and fulfil our ambitions and have the kind of life that we want.

Some of us find we have difficulties in our relationships at home or at work or feel lonely and unable to form relationships at all.
Do feel your life is passing you by? That you’re not in control of what is happening around you? Know you need to make changes in your life, but not exactly sure what or how? Then counselling may be the best approach for you. We will talk a lot, be open and honest and everything we talk about will remain completely confidential.

Fitness Training

Fitness Training

A healthy mind works best with a healthy body, and working alongside a motivated trainer will get you to a surprising level of physical fitness. But it’s got to be fun, challenging and constantly changing, so we’ll mix a programme to suit you; walking, circuit training, cycling, running, boxing, gym work, yoga, swimming; whatever inspires and excites you.

When we start we’ll assess your current level of health and fitness. Your progress will be regularly assessed and benchmarked to keep you motivated, and remind you how far you have come. We can also help you with diet advice of you need it.

Lack of activity destroys the good condition of every human being, while movement and methodical physical exercise save it and preserve it. Plato

It is exercise alone that supports the spirits, and keeps the mind in vigor. Marcus Tullius Cicero
